Updating Bridge to Benefits for Health Care Reform

The full implementation of the Affordable Care Act is just around the corner, and CDF-MN is working hard to update Bridge to Benefits to include the changes to Medical Assistance and MinnesotaCare, as well as include screening and information about Advanced Premium Tax Credits (APTC) and cost-sharing subsidies available through MNSure, the state’s health insurance marketplace. MNSure will be the place to go to find coverage options, compare options, and determine eligibility for Medical Assistance, MinnesotaCare and APTC. Open enrollment for purchasing insurance through MNSure starts Oct. 1, but health care coverage obtained through the exchange won’t go into effect until Jan. 1, 2014. On that day Bridge to Benefits will be updated to include information on APTC and the changes to Medical Assistance and MinnesotaCare. We are also trying to update the site before the end of the year to allow partners to use the site to model for clients how health care reform will affect them. Stay tuned!
